International BIM Competition 2016

This year we have a total of 196 students' registration received from Canada, China, India, Iran, Jordan, New Zealand, Korea and Singapore!
The Awards are presented to the students by our Guest of Honour Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance, Mr. Lawrence Wong during the Singapore Construction Productivity Week (SCPW) Opening Ceremony on the 18 May 2016 at Expo, Singapore.

Computational BIM for DfMA
(Design for Manufacture and Assembley)


  • To raise awareness and built competency in using Computational BIM (Building Information Modeling) innovatively for Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA)


Target Participants

  • Open to all full-time students from a registered tertiary institution in their respective countries.

  • Members need not be from the same school.



  • Registration is still open

  • Open to sharing sessions arranged by BCA

  • Two submission dates on

    • 7 Sep2016 - Intermediate Submission (Local Only)

    • 9 Sep 2016 - Final Submission

  • Notify shortlisted participants on 16 September 2016

  • Final Presentation for shortlisted participants on 23 September 2016

  • Result Finalized on 28 September 2016

  • Prize distribution during October 2016 during Singapore Construction Productivity Week (SCPW)


  • Submissions to be made online 


  • Design of an Exhibition Pavillion with Computational Design and Building Information Modelling (BIM) towards Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA)

  • Design Challenges include

  • 30% - Design Quality

  • 40% - Design for DfMA

  • 30% - Project Delivery


  • First Prize - $5000 (Sgd) + Plaque

  • Second Prize - $3000 (Sgd) + Plaque

  • Third Prize - $2000 (Sgd) + Plaque

  • Merit - $800 (Sgd) + Plaque

  • Participants - Certificates
